Bridge of Spies, Steven Spielberg?s cold war spy thriller and potential Oscar contender, will launch its awards campaign at the New York film festival. The event will host the world premiere of Bridge of Spies, which stars Tom Hanks, ahead of its US release on October 16. Spielberg?s last film, Lincoln, also premiered at the event ? albeit as a ?secret? screening. Bridge of Spies stars Hanks as a cold war American lawyer recruited by the CIA to defend a soviet spy and arrange for his swap with a captured U-2 pilot in east Berlin.
