Nina Dobrev is welcome to return to The CW series The Vampire Diaries.
Network president Mike Pedowitz said as much to reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour Tuesday. Dobrev portrayed Elena Gilbert on six seasons of the popular drama.
The Vampire Diaries premiered in 2009, and will continue to star Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Kat Graham. The series follows the supernatural inhabitants of the fictional small town Mystic Falls, Va., and will return for a seventh season Oct. 8.
