Variety has learned, showrunner Matt Nix and writer-director Peter Berg are teaming up for an action-comedy, which has landed a put pilot commitment at Fox. Nix penned the script and will serve as exec producer along with Berg, who has been busy in TV recently as an exec producer and director of the pilot for HBO?s ?Ballers? and ?The Leftovers,? among other projects. Nix says, ?I?ve always admired Pete?s facility with comedy, drama, and action so I thought it would make sense to do a comedy/drama/action show with him.?
