In what has been a treat for British headline writers, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation cruised to the top of the U.K. box office, ensuring Inside Out's spell in the number one spot was just a week-long stint.
While the $8.4 million bow for Tom Cruise's latest Ethan Hunt outing was more than enough to see off the $5.6 million second-week revenue of the Pixar Animation film, it was just the third-biggest British Mission: Impossible opening, and some way short of the fourth installment's $12.8 million in 2011.
Elsewhere, Southpaw managed to move up a place to third with $1.76 million in its second week, edging out Ant-Man by just a few thousand dollars.
Minions meanwhile added another $1.56 million, in the process becoming Universal's second 2015 title to top $62.5 million.
