Jimmy Fallon returned to NBC's Tonight Show on Monday for his first show since his hand injury, and he managed to be in a good spirits about the frightening ordeal.
During the show, Fallon explained that he experienced "ring avulsion" when his ring got snagged on the countertop on June 26 and caused his finger to go "sideways."
He was taken to Beth Israel Hospital's emergency room in New York City but soon ended up at Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was treated by a specialist in hand micro-surgery. Fallon said about the situation,
"Apparently, the odds aren?t great, and usually they just cut your finger off."
