For his third studio album, R&B singer Miguel explores racial identity in depth.
Titled, "Wildheart," the record is a special part of his own personal journey.
The son of a Mexican American father and African American mother has always felt the pull of culture and ethnicity.
He said of the album, "it has so much to do with the energy and pace and perspective I have on the world now."
Ditching the standard aesthetics for radio play, he choice a more artistic approach for Wildheart.
Miguel added, "I think that confidence affords or informs a certain decisiveness."
