You never know what those hidden cameras at the donut shop might catch...
Ariana Grande has issued an apology after a video surfaced in which the 22-year-old singer is seen licking donuts with her backup dancer and rumored love interest Ricky Alvarez before she is heard saying "I hate Americans. I hate America."
The clip, which was apparently recorded over the weekend at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, Calif., immediately generated a great deal of backlash.
But, according to Grande, the incidents have no connection, and she wants to set the record straight in addition to saying she's sorry. The actress said in a statement, "I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my country. What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
