Were you hoping that the first trailer for Snowden, Oliver Stone's upcoming political biopic, would include a glimpse of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the bespectacled title character? Too bad. Instead, the moody teaser features close-up shots of an American flag, excerpts from Snowden's biography ? "Army recruit at 20. By age 29, the most wanted man in the world" ? and a gloomy cover of "This Little Light of Mine."
Also, at the end, it turns out the flag has been upside-down the whole time. The trailer can be viewed online at Mashable.com. Despite the gloom, director Oliver Stone calls Edward Snowden a hero--because he acted from his conscience.
