Some observers are quick to shoot down this rumor because Swift has a sponsorship deal with Diet Coke, which would conflict with Pepsi's halftime show sponsorship.
A more logical choice from a business standpoint and historical perspective, especially for this 50th anniversary event, would be Britney Spears. Both Spears and Swift put on elaborate shows that are ideal for a stadium crowd as well as for the massive TV audience that the Super Bowl routinely attracts.
