Okay, so it's not really Herzog: It's protagonist Greg Gaines (played by Thomas Mann), who obsesses over Herzog and writes his college essay in his voice. The film centers on Greg, a teenage filmmaker who befriends a girl dying of cancer. With the help of his "co-worker" Earl, Greg also makes parodies of film classics ? so naturally, they idolize Herzog.
