Fashion faux pas are inevitable, for all of us, celebs included.
But John Mayer wants to make it very clear that his past looks?be it Tibetan robes or Johnny Depp-esque layers?were a result of some pretty heavy drinking.
He told GQ magazine, "Sometimes, if you don't see the person you recognize in the mirror, then you're free from your own punishment. It's hard to explain. You're free from your own criticism. If you don't recognize the person you see in the mirror, then you're free from self-persecution."
