In the first trailer for Davis Guggenheim's documentary about child activist, Taliban shooting victim and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the 17-year-old stresses that she's "still a teenager." The preview of He Named Me Malala intercuts footage of Yousafzai advocating for girls education with her home life with her parents and two brothers. The trailer begins with news reports and her parents reflecting on her shooting, when she was 15 and targeted by the Taliban for her support for women's education. Although she was severely wounded by the gunshot, Yousafzai survived and, as she says in the trailer, it hasn't stopped her. Fox Searchlight is releasing He Named Me Malala in select theaters on Oct. 2.??
