Alexander Skarsgård sports a new look in the new film The Diary of a Teenage Girl, which sees him playing a controversial role. In the movie, a coming-of-age drama set in the '70s in San Francisco, the True Blood alum plays Monroe, a man dating a woman named Charlotte, played by Kristin Wiig. He ends up having a sexual affair with the protagonist and narrator, her daughter, Minnie. Who's 15. And was a virgin. She's played by British actress Bel Powley. In California, the age of consent is 18 and has been since 1913. The Diary of a Teenage Girl is based on Phoebe Gloeckner's 2002 graphic novel, The Diary of a Teenage Girl: An Account in Words and Pictures. The movie also stars Christopher Meloni and Margarita Levieva and marks director Marielle Heller's directorial and screenwriting debut. The Diary of a Teenage Girl debuted at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in January and is set for release on Aug. 7.??
