Peter Sarsgaard is in final negotiations to join MGM's remake of the classic western 'Magnificent Seven' , but Jason Momoa is leaving the cast of the remade film. Antoine Fuqua will direct the update of the 1960 film, which centers on a ragtag group of seven gunslingers hired by a woman to defend her town from bandits.
Roger Birnbaum and Todd Black are producing with Walter Mirisch and Fuqua executive producing.
Sarsgaard next will star in the Johnny Depp mob drama Black Mass, and he recently appeared in NBC's miniseries The Slap and Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.??
