Melissa McCarthy appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday and spoke candidly about a conversation she had with a journalist who criticized her physical appearance in Tammy.
McCarthy said, "He said, basically I?m only a good actress when I look attractive and that my husband shouldn?t be allowed to direct me because he let me be to look hideous in this movie."
McCarthy continued, recalling that the critic just repeated that she "really looked bad" in the film so then she asked him if he would speak to his daughter that way.
"I said, just know that every time you write stuff every young girl in this country reads that and they just get a little bit chipped away,"??
