Broadway already has casted its next Hedwig for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and it's Taye Diggs! According to the New York Times, Idina Menzel's ex-husband will take over for the Glee alum starting July 22. Lead producer David Binder told the Times, "Taye is fantastic?he has theater cred, he has pop culture cred, he can sing, he can act, he can dance, he's smart and he's sexy." This wouldn't be Diggs' first appearance on Broadway, as he also appeared in the original cast of Rent. He also has co-starred in films such as How Stella Got Her Groove Back and TV shows such as Private Practice, so there's no shortage of acting experience. He will be the first African-American to play the title character in New York.??
