Musicians, actors and writers posted messages while people who have worked with or been inspired by the blues legend shared their memories.
Ringo Starr, Snoop Dogg and Lenny Kravitz were among the first to pay their respects. Kravitz tweeted "BB, anyone could play a thousand notes and never say what you said in one. #RIP #BBKing."??
