"There's a new girl in town," Mariah Carey gleefully asserted Monday after making an elaborate entrance at the kickoff event for her musical residency.
Carey's 18-show stint at Caesars Palace's Colosseum begins May 6 and continues through July 26 and follows in the footsteps of the venue's former headliners: Celine Dion, Elton John Bette Midler, Cher, Rod Stewart and Shania Twain. Here's how Carey, whose 18 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles are the most of any solo artist in history, showed up in style: Mobile billboards that listed each of her 18 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles in order formed a procession outside Caesars Palace. Riding inside a pink convertible from the 1930s, a smiling Mariah Carey trailed the billboards. Gladiators and dancers greeted her at the door. Four centurions carried Carey to the red carpet.
And A big screen showed her new lyric video for "Infinity" as shiny ribbons exploded into the air.??
