The announcement of this year's hosts was made as the 2015 nominees were being unveiled. Chenoweth and Cumming have both won Tony Awards in the past. Chenoweth is also a Tony nominee this year for her role in the revival of On The Twentieth Century, which is also up for best revival of a musical.
The Hollywood Reporter's awards analyst, Scott Feinberg, recently pointed out that hosts who are currently appearing in shows on Broadway have seen their awards prospects increase.??
