Salma Hayek says she hopes the animated feature film "The Prophet," which she co-produced, can inspire young fans to think outside the box about ways to improve the world.
The film tells the story of a young girl who finds the voice she lost through her friendship with a poet imprisoned for his ideas.
The story, based on poems by iconic Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran, is a collaborative work among several animators.
Speaking to reporters Monday, Hayek, who is of Lebanese descent, described the film as, "a love letter to my heritage" that will hopefully encourage new generations to think differently.??
