Asif Kapadia?s documentary on late English singer Amy Winehouse is set to get a Midnight Screening at this year?s Cannes Film Festival.
Festival organizers revealed that the film would be screened alongside a ?musical accompaniment? by her record label Universal.
The film was acquired by A24 for North American rights. It is set to bow in the U.K. on July 3, less than a month shy of the fourth anniversary of the singer?s death.
The first minute-long trailer debuted at Universal Music Group?s pre-Grammy brunch in February.
Winehouse, who rose to international fame with her second album, Back to Black, died on July 23, 2011 from alcohol poisoning.??
