The seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Furious 7, opens in theaters nationwide today. However, we already have some details about the next sequel in the hugely-successful series.
On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, actor Vin Diesel, who plays the role of one of the series? lead characters, Dominic Toretto, and who has been a producer for some of the more recent movies, revealed that the next Fast movie will take place in New York and that Kurt Russell?s character in Furious 7, an unnamed, secret agent-like persona, will be central to it.
Diesel told Kimmel, "Kurt Russell came in for this movie. But we really hired him because of a story that follows this that takes place in New York." The news doesn?t come as a complete surprise as a senior executive at Universal Studios said last year that as many as three more sequels were possible.??
