According to a report by Deadspin, Khabib Nurmagomedov returned to Russia after defending his lightweight championship against Conor McGregor before jumping out of the ring to attack a member of McGregor's team, starting a brawl. After bringing home the belt, Nurmagomedov and his father met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin reportedly said to the fighter, "I will ask your father not to punish you too strictly, because you achieved the main task, worthily and convincingly."
