The film is based on a New Yorker article from 2003.
It's the true story of a septuagenarian bank robber who charmed his victims with a smile.
The film is directed by David Lowry.
Lowry said he was surprised when Redford brought him on board to adapt the article into a film.
Lowry's film, Aint That Bodies Saints, played at Sundance just a few weeks before Redford called him.
