VIDEO : 'Black Panther' Writer Criticizes Iron Man

During a SXSW panel on Saturday, "Black Panther" co-writer Joe Robert Cole said Iron Man is "douchey and disrespectful to women." Cole wondered if the superhero would be popular if introduced in today's climate. Iron Man has been played by actor Robert Downey Jr. for several years. Cole said, "If that character, Stark, was created in a movie today, I wonder if the response would be like, 'Oh, it's cool that he's douchey and disrespectful to women ? That's fine.' I think we're at a different place. I think it's a better place."
