Bella Thorne wrote an insensitive Tweet, expressing her annoyance that the 101 freeway was closed in southern California. After posting this on Twitter, people immediately began attacking her for her lack of knowledge that the freeway was closed due to deadly mudslides that left at least 17 people dead. The mudslides caused a large part of the freeway between Ventura and Santa Barbara to be covered in mud. Rob Lowe was one of the many to criticize Thorne and posted her tweet on Instagram saying: "This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood." The actress later tweeted out saying she did not know why the freeway was shut down and deleted her earlier tweet.
