VIDEO : Bryan Singer Out Of Queen Biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

Celebrity in this news:

Dexter Fletcher - Director of "Eddie the Eagle" - has replaced "X-Men" Director Bryan Singer on the Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody." In a statement Singer claims that 20th Century Fox fired him after he asked for time off to tend to pressing health matters concerning one of his parents. Singer wrote "I wanted nothing more than to be able to finish this project and help honor the legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen, but Fox would not permit me to do so because I needed to temporarily put my health, and the health of my loved ones, first." The 51-year-old Fletcher, an actor and director, is now set to restart production on the biopic, which stars Rami Malek as frontman Freddie Mercury, Gwilym Lee as lead guitarist Brian May, Ben Hardy as drummer Roger Taylor and Joe Mazzello as bassist John Deacon. Singer denied speculation that his exit was down to "a dispute" with lead star Malek, but admitted they did have "creative differences" on set at times.
