J. K. Rowling is breaking her silence, and defending her decision, to cast Johnny Depp in the next installment of "Fantastic Beasts." After some fans questioned the decision to cast Depp due to previous allegations of domestic abuse against the actor, Rowling originally kept quiet on the matter. Now, she is breaking her silence with a statement on her website. It reads in part quote "Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies." Depp has been accused of domestic violence by ex-wife Amber Heard.
