VIDEO : Little Mermaid Remake Gets Director and Composer

Although no release date has been set, Screen Rant reports that production is progressing for Disney's The Little Mermaid. The Mouse House is creating a live action remake of the 1989 animated film, which follows the life of a mermaid who wants to be human. Reports say that Rob Marshall is Disney?s top pick for the director. Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and star of the Broadway smash, Hamilton, is also working on music for the Disney production, alongside Alan Menken.
