One of the most important things you develop as a child is your imagination, whether it's to tell stories or play pretend. Viola Davis knows that, and she is raising her daughter Genesis with that in mind. When 6-year-old Genesis wants to dress up as a white Disney princess or comic-book character, Viola pushes her to toss out the wigs and use her natural hair with the costume, stressing the importance of loving yourself and being comfortable in the skin (or hair) you are in before becoming happy as someone else. Viola states how different her own journey might be if someone had done the same for her, she hopes to make her daughters natural hair journey a joy this way.
