According to gizmodo.com, ?The Earth is made of tectonic plates, immense sections of crust and mantle spreading apart and crushing together, causing things like volcanism, earthquakes, and continental drift. Scientist in Europe mapped out these tectonic plates and called it ?Atlas of the Underworld.? Their map and scientific paper was published in the scientific journal, ?Tectonophysics.?
