Stephen King's "It" had an enormous opening weekend. Now the film has reportedly surpassed "The Exorcist" as the highest-grossing horror film ever in the United States, with an eye on smashing the global record. On its opening weekend, "It" nearly doubled its estimate for a total of 117.2 million dollars, to become the third highest-grossing movie of 2017. At 408.2 million bucks globally, the horror flick has a short way to go to beat "The Exorcist" on the international level, which earned more than 441 million.
