Songbird Jennifer Hudson won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress after starring as Effie in her first-ever film, 'Dreamgirls.'
Since then, she's achieved much in the music industry and even went on to receive several Grammys.
But according to ScreenRant, just as her musical career was kicking off, a terrible tragedy struck in October of 2008.
Hudson?s mother, brother, and young nephew were shot dead by her brother in law, William Balfour.
Still, Hudson told Ophrah Winfrey she has forgiven William for his terrible deed.
She said, ?Had you had the love my mother gave us, or the background that some have, then you would?ve stood a chance.?
