The DC Extended Cinematic universe has been severaly criticized for its dark tone. Man of Steel, Batman Versus Superman, and Suicide Squad turned off hardcore comic book fans. For DC and it's partner, Warner Brothers, everything hinges on this fall's Justice League. Joe Morton, who plays Cyborg's father in Justice League, said the films recent reshoots adjusted the tone of the film and lightened the character of Cyborg. The reshoots coincided with Joss Whedon taking over for Zack Snyder, who left the film to deal with a personal tragedy. Many fans speculated that Whedon brought in to change the tone of Justice League and make it funnier. According to an article on Screenrant.com, the purpose of bringing Whedon on may not have been to change the tone of the movie,. However, that doesn?t mean the reshoots won?t have that effect to some extent.
