The BBC came under fire instantly for sexism when the network revealed the wages of its top earners on Wednesday. The figures showed a huge gap between the wages of its male and female employees, so it comes as no surprise that many began speculating if incoming Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker would be paid the same as the current star, Peter Capaldi. BBC director general Tony Hall has confirmed with The Evening Standard newspaper that Whittaker will be paid the same as Capaldi.
