VIDEO : Mark Hamill Doesn't Want Luke Skywalker Prequel

Celebrity in this news:

ollowing the success of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, many are wondering what standalone films to expect from the galaxy far, far away. But according to one of the franchise's most popular stars, Mark Hamill, a solo film about his character probably won't happen.
While appearing at this weekend's D23 Expo, Hamill was asked about the possibility of a Luke Skywalker prequel film. But as the actor explained, Luke's origins might not be exciting enough for a solo adventure.
"It'd be pretty boring, you know?" Hamill explained. "It's set on a moisture farm on a desert planet. Yawn."
Of course, one Luke's original trilogy companions, Han Solo, is getting his own solo anthology film next year. But Hamill had a pretty good justification for why that story is being told.
"Well, [Han] had a more colorful life prior to Star Wars than I did."
If a younger Luke Skywalker did need to appear, Hollywood doesn't have to look far for someone to play the fan-favorite character. Some have noticed that Marvel Cinematic Universe star Sebastian Stan looks eerily like Hamill in A New Hope, with fans campaigning for the actor to appear as a younger Luke in some sort of capacity.
For those who would rather see Luke's later adventures, Hamill will reprise the role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which premieres in theaters on December 15.
