Hi everyone I'm Andrea Rene and you're watching the get the
daily.com.
Last the 50th Annual Grammy Awards aired with much
anticipation as it was suspected it might be the only big,
ritzy awards show of the season due to the writer's strike.
And glitzy it was! There were some standout performances by
Alicia Keys and the Foo Fighters, but none quite as memorable
as when pop superstar
Beyonce took the stage with legendary
crooner
Tina Turner. Tina might be in the Senior's Club but
she's still got the moves! They jammed out to the classic tune
"Proud Mary" and I've got to tell you, if you missed it catch
it on You Tube. Also worth watching is
Kanye West's
collaboration with Daft Punk for his hit stronger plus a
tribute to his mother through his song "Hey Mama." While
Kanye's performance was good, his acceptance speech for one of
his four grammy wins, best rap album, was choice, his
cockiness overshadowing the honor of the award, that's worth a
Youtube look as well. And even though he scored 4 trophies he
once again failed to clinch Record of the Year which went to,
surprise, Herbie Hancock for his album "River: the Joni
letters." Other noteable wins go to
Amy Winehouse! She gave a
great performance, which was a much needed comeback for the
singer who couldn't attend the ceremony because she needed to
go back to Rehab, ironically, and even better, she was the top
earner of the night with 5 trophies, including record of the
year for famous song "Rehab." Other winners include
Rihanna,
Justin Timberlake, Foo Fighters, and Vince Gill, who
hilariously poked fun at Kanye during his acceptance speech.

categories, head over to grammys.com.
